Weddings & Honeymoons - Case Study One
Sarah Godwin, 32, a chiropodist, and Dave Woodward, 34, an aircraft engineer, got married at the family-run, four-star Romantikhotel in Zell Am See in Austria in March 2007 in front of 18 close family and friends.
What did the couple ask for?
The couple knew exactly what they wanted. They love snowboarding and had been to Austria before and wanted to get married there. The hardest part was finding a hotel that was big enough to accommodate the whole wedding party.
Why Austria?
They love snowboarding and particularly like Austria.
Why that particular venue?
As well as hosting weddings, Romantikhotel met the requirements of everyone that attended the wedding. It was perfectly located for the guests that wanted to go skiing or snowboarding, but the hotel also had a spa and indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools for those who didn't.
How long did the booking take?
The couple came into the agency in February 2006 and they got married in March 2007.
How easy was the Booking to make?
It was quite difficult as there were problems with getting the right documentation.

Weddings & Honeymoons-Case Study Two
Donald and Sue Ryan from Kent have just returned from their wedding in New York, followed by a honeymoon at the Turtle Beach hotel in Barbados. The wedding took place on board the World Yacht, in front of 24 guests, including two babies.
What did the couple asked for?
Sue was very specific about what she wanted. She knew she wanted to get married on the World Yacht, and she had an idea about how many nights their guests could come for.
Why New York?
The couple wanted to build in some time for shopping and sightseeing, and it's an easy I connection to Barbados, where they had their honeymoon.
Why that particular venue?
The World Yacht offers a full a service on board and a free bar. The service includes a limo transfer to the yacht at about 5pm, where the couple has the wedding before other members of the public get on board. After that, the yacht sails round the Statue of Liberty and under Brooklyn Bridge.
How long did the booking take?
The couple initially made contact in February 2006, for a November 2007 wedding. But Sue fell pregnant and then her new boss wouldn't let her have the time off she'd initially booked. She moved the wedding to April and we had to change the booking. We managed to get everyone on the same flight and in most of the same hotels.
How easy was the booking to make?
The initial wedding took about a week to sort out. A few people cancelled and others took their place, so there were a few changes. The guests had different requirements: some were staying two or three nights, and we booked a range of hotels

What the couple said:
Bride Sue Ryan said: "I thought Sunpex were excellent. I had to change the date and it was superb in accommodating all 24 of us! The hotels, the flights, the wedding package ... everything was really good. I would definitely recommend the package I chose - it was a great holiday as well as a fantastic experience.
Weddings & Honeymoons - Case Study Three
Darren French, 44, a commodity trader, and Gemma French, 42, an holistic therapist, from West Farleigh, Kent, married at the five-star Anassa hotel in Latchi, Cyprus, in October 2006, in front of 34 close friends and family. Jane's daughter, Sarah, aged seven, was bridesmaid.
What did the couple asked for?
They weren't sure on the destination, but they knew they wanted to get married on the beach and they wanted to take their family and friends.
Why Cyprus?
The couple considered a long haul destination, such as Hawaii, but then decided it was too far for some guests to travel. We suggested two or three options in Cyprus, but we knew that once they had seen the Anassa they would choose that.
Why that particular venue?
It's one of the best hotels in Cyprus, in a good location and the hotel agreed with the clients' wish, which was to get married on the beach. It isn't normally done - you have to marry in the chapel - but because we have a good relationship with the hotel and it gave the couple special dispensation.
How long did the booking take?
The couple initially contacted us in February 2007 and we finalised everything about a month before the wedding.
How easy was the booking to make?
It was quite complex as initially, the couple didn't know how many guests would be travelling. Some stayed for 10 nights; some went for three, some for seven. The guests had different room requirements, and some people were paying for certain things, others weren't.
How much was the whole package?
About £45,000. For latest prices & deals just complete our simple booking enquiry form.
What the couple said:
Bride Gemma French said: "Sunpex made it so easy. We married at sunset on the beach in an informal ceremony, which was what we wanted. The hotel was easygoing and welcoming to such a large group. Almost a year later, everyone is still talking about it.'
Weddings & Honeymoons-Case Study Four
Janet Harris, 37, married Len Patterson, 45 got married in St Lucia in 2007. They chose Le Sport Hotel after researching the internet for weeks. If we had the time again, we would make sure that we got a good look round the island and find out more about what it has to offer we should visited the shop & chat to one of the Sunpex agents .
What were the highlights?
The wedding itself was amazingly beautiful. We took a boat out to Pigeon Island and tied the knot there and it was a lovely experience - stress-free and exactly as we had planned it. Another great part of the package was the spa treatments.
Why did you choose St Lucia for your wedding?
We had friends who had been to the island to get married and they highly recommended it as a relaxing way to tie the knot. Also, we thought it was much cheaper than getting married in the UK!
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding in St Lucia?
Get out and see St Lucia because it's a lovely place. Hire a car or arrange some excursions and go and see the Pitons.
Did the package meet your expectations?
On reflection, we actually thought that once we'd travelled all the way there and back again that it was a long way to go for a beach holiday. You can get the same experience in Greece or a destination that's nearer. We were encouraged not to leave the compound so we didn't get any taste of Caribbean life.

Would you recommend it?
Yes, it does exactly what it says on the tin and, if you are looking to get married in paradise, this is it. You get a holiday and guaranteed sunshine on your special day - all rolled into one.
